  • For me, one of my favorite things to do, is just spending quality time with my husband & son.  I love being with other people, and am probably more of the socializer than my husband, but some of the most fun I have is when it's only my little family!  I believe it's because you are totally relaxed around them and they know you inside & out and know your weird antics.

One Sunday, we headed back to the mountains and had our dinner back there which consisted of hot dogs and marshmallows. Kit had the time of his life splashing in the creek. I thought the water was cold, but he didn't seem to mind.

The other Saturday evening, we went golfing. Now my husband loves to golf, and he's really good at it, but me on the other hand...well let's say I have a lot to learn, but it's quite thrilling. And Kit of course has to take his golf clubs along too.  He normally only putts on the green, and he loves riding the golf cart.  He "practices" quite a bit at home.

  • Shenandoah Christian Music Camp

Last week I had the privilege of going here. It was an amazing week, with getting my mind stretched and remembering what it's like to be back in school. We had amazing instructors/conductors and came home feeling blessed by God and those we were around.  It was good to get out of my comfort zone.  It was so awesome to be able to sing everyday under good conductors and sing wonderful songs.  I also made some new friends, which is always fun to do.  The hardest thing was to leave my husband and son for a whole week.  I wondered sometimes if I was crazy for doing it, but I think it was worth it.  It felt so good to be back with them.

Here is Marrisa and I.  She's from my sister's area, so it'll be fun to be able to see her when I go visit my sister.

My look-alike!  All week long, Angela and I were asked if we were sisters or cousins.  We thought it rather neat.  She was my comrade, as she also didn't have her husband there.

I took voice class which John H. Miller taught.  Good class, but the girls can hardly ever sing nice for him.  He likes guy voices better!  We had to do solo's in his class, and then got critiqued.

My small choir conductor, Wendell Nisly.  He would ask us "How's your sternum today?"

The other class I took was sight-singing. The last day we had to get up in groups and sight-sing a song we didn't know! Stretching to the mind.

  • We were at Mom & Dad's tonight for supper, and Pa-Pa asked Kit if he wanted to pray.  Kit said that we should go around the table and each take our turn. He was asked to go first, and he said to me "Mom, you can go first. I don't know how to do it." It was so cute. And then he prayed the cutest prayer. You can't help but love the innocence of kids!

  • Being Silly

Lately, Kit likes getting his picture taken. When he was at his Maw-maw the other day he was posing for her in the flowerbeds.  Anyway the other evening we were outside and he wanted to get some pictures taken, so we took some self-portraits!   He just wanted to make silly faces.

I was at a yardsale last Saturday and picked up this desk for $1.00.  I was so excited and it keeps his crayons, markers, coloring books and some candy. There is some paint on it, so I might strip it and paint it, but for now he uses it as-is.

Kit and his cat. He went out the door the other night, and didn't know the cat was following him and the door closed on the cat's foot. It didn't do anything to the cat, thankfully.  Kit kept telling me "Mommy, I didn't mean to do it." He wondered why the cat was meowing so loudly.  I told him the cat was crying just like he cries when he gets hurt.

  • Georgia

This past weekend, my whole family (minus Tom & Kit) were down in GA for my brother's 40th birthday.  He only knew that Mom & Dad were coming down, so we surprised him real good!  It was a fast weekend, but so much fun to all be together again.  It looked like a campground around their place with 4 tents set up.

    Here is the birthday man

Sunday after church, we took family pictures.  Some of the little people weren't too impressed.  Didn't want to stand. I guess they were probably hungry.

I think she was getting spoiled this weekend!  She's so much fun to dote on. Such a happy baby.

I flew down on Saturday morning to Albany, GA. Rhonda & my nieces came along to pick me up.  They got this brainstorm to hold signs with my name on it, acting like I wouldn't know where to go.

Monday afternoon, Mom & Dad and myself, flew out of Tallahasse, FL.  When we got to the airport, I was going to try to get on Mom & Dad's flight, but they wouldn't let me.  I waved good-bye to Mom & Dad as they got on their flight. We were going to meet up in Atlanta again.  After they boarded, I went to check my flight again. ( it had been a half hour later than scheduled when I got to the airport) It was now going to be an hour & 45 minutes late, which meant I would miss my connecting flight and not get home that night yet!  I talked to Delta, got on standby for a little bit earlier flight. Flew into Atlanta, ran up the ramp and saw my connecting flight was closed.  I was so bummed. By this time, I was so ready to be home with my husband and son.  Went to Mom &  Dad's gate, and was going to try to get on that flight, but it was full. So I had to go to the Delta help desk, and they gave me a hotel voucher, and rescheduled to fly out on Tuesday morning.   I finally got home about 14 hrs later than what I  had planned.

Was so very glad to see this man:

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME...

So it's my birthday today and I turned 27.  Yikes, only 3 more years until I'm 30! I felt like posting some pics of myself when I was younger.  Hopefully this doesn't seem like a self-conceited post.  It was fun going back thru old pictures and of all the memories that they bring.
